Somewhat similarly, whenever I see Ocarina of Time abbreviated as "OoT", I always read it in my head as "oo oo tee" for some reason (double "o" sound repeated twice), even though it would just be the regular letters pronounced as they are. seeing the "Oo" together in the abbreviation like that tricks my brain ig, lol.

Umm, akshually, those are initialisms, not acronyms.

I did have an answer to this that I was thinking about a while back, but now I've gone and done the thing where when that information actually becomes relevant, it leaves my brain entirely.

Reminds me of taking European history and abbreviating all the countries and major events to take notes faster.

Some were pretty straight forward. FR: French Revolution.

Someone had to point out to me why Aus-Ho as an abbreviation for Austria-Hungary was awkward though, lol.

In education, they have a big important report for each student at the end of the year called the Cumulative Report. Usually just called the cum for short. (pronounced kyuum as in cumulative).

So if you walk into a teachers room after the year ends, youll see a folder labeled CUM in big bold letters.

Its an abbreviation instead of an acronym, but still.

Oh, we have that in my industry as well.

Every asset in oil and gas needs an Integrity Management Plan, or IMP. That includes pipelines, which have a Pipeline Integrity Management Plan. Meaning that when you're laying pipe, you have to make sure you have a PIMP if you don't want to break the law.

Related: This is "Pipey", the internal mascot of one of our large clients that they actually used on official communications.
