Bro what? Down bad is millennial slang. It started over 10 years ago in hip hop culture and spread beyond that around the pandemic. I don't know how you and multiple others have not heard it in the last 5 years, it's been everywhere online.
This is literally the first time I recall seeing it and I've been online practically every day since the early 2000s.
Maybe some of us just didn't pay it any mind or keep up with hip hop.
