How long is the shutdown gonna last

We're so fucked up now it wouldn't surprise me if the government stays shut down for the rest of the year

Best case, until MAGA Mike Johnson gets one of the Republicans to stop supporting the Epstein release.

Worst case, until Emperor Orange the First dissolves the Senate and sweeps away the last remnants of the Old Republic.

As long as it can.

They going to steal everything while they can during shut down

I selfishly want it to stay down until the troops miss their first paycheck, just to see what happens.

But I also need to get paid. I can miss one more paycheck and be OK, but after that, im gonna have to get creative.

The longest government shutdown in US history was 35 days during Trump's first term. If this one lasts the same length of time that would run into early November.

I'm gambling on December, for weather shelter-related reasons.

I think that's one of their leaked plans, get the republicans to play along until after mid terms, they think they're safe since their congressmen but when it's time to swear in the new congress they simply don't do it and thus there is no more congress at all, with no congress Trump's admin says all law making duties now fall to the executive branch since there's no one to swear in the new congress, as far as the senate goes, after seeing Trump do away with Congress like this knowing the supreme court is not gonna stop him they'll just sit quietly hoping Trump doesn't dissolve them, there's a lot of legality about refusing to swear in the new congress but when you have the supreme authority of law in your pocket you make the rules and they know this.

i was prepared for what may happen the 100$ i would've gotten does help blunt the food costs some.

This shutdown isnt going to end anytime soon. Even if they all come to an agreement tomorrow Trump will straight up tank it.

this was literally in the Project 2025 playbook. It was planned. In the plan its sole purpose was to shut down the government giving Trump more power to them fire and close many government agencies, and fire tones of people, mostly the democratic sides. All while theres not much for people to stop him or get in his way.
And guess what. Thats exactly whats happening.

what sickening is the stuff like that one top lady trying to force all airports to constantly play recordings saying the government is shut down because of democrats. That is complete manipulation and even propaganda. It gives people coming to this country their first impression even before stepping outside that democrats are the enemy and ruining the country

their first impression sad part is, its working. The government has been shut down less than 2 weeks and at first the majority blamed republicans, in this very short time that number has been seating to be blaming the left for all this

Trump already holds the record for longest shut-down of United States government. Really exposes the visage of his dealmaking prowlness, doesn't it?
