Haven't watched series 3 for context.

I confess I've always felt it suffered from a not uncommon problem.

Part 1 is jolly good fun, much entertainment is had by putting an endgame protagonist into an early game scenario.

Said entertainment provides audience and money from the engaged, leading to professionally drawn manga, plus anime.

Excited by their revenue, the big boys want more, which leads to.

Part 2

We already did all the jokes, here's some tonk we're pushing out for the money.

this doesn't really apply when the anime is an adaptation of something that exists already, and has more content that what you're currently adapting.

the bulk of the work is done. the jokes are made, the story is set, the setpieces are accounted for, they just need to adapt it to animation.

Yeah, it was a one season wonder, the manga apparently has gone to the dogs as well, Fieran fans are shaking in their boots that this could be their future meanwhile Mob 100 fans are laughing
The webcomic is the best form of Opm
Legend of Legaia is the best game ever
Legend of Dragoon is the other best game ever
So is the Webcomic of One Punch Man still worth reading? The art style is bad but it had a decent narrative as long as I followed it.

I enjoyed season 2 just fine
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple

Stand out, fit in
I never saw OPM but it sucks for fans how the series has panned out

I've had it happen a couple of times to me (FLCL, Chainsaw Man [although the movie looks better so I'm excited to see it], JoJo with Stone Ocean) so it's rough

i wish deen was better, i wish ufotable would remake the original fate stay night anime. the music was good but the animation quality was horrible in compassion to the stuff from ufotable.
Tbh I'm the opposite.

I do wish Ufotable would remake Saber's route but just so people wouldn't tell newbies to skip her route entirely

I find Ufotable's UBW anime soulless and the worst of the 3 FSN routes by far (although, fwiw, I found Heaven's Feel to be the best)

Deen's technically looked worse but I liked the atmosphere and character designs in Deen way more
Not changing this part until Saki Amamiya (or Isa Jo) get into Smash as a playable character
Now watching: Sailor Moon S1
it's sad when fan animations are better than the real thing

Did these people miss season 2? It wasn't terrible, but it was definitely a let down. Apparently there was a lot behind the scenes that made season 1 as great as it was.
Basically the studio afaik. Madhouse is known for having good animation. They weren't the ones that made s2 and s3.
Some things are beautiful because they cannot be obtained. ~~ Gilgamesh
It's unfortunate. Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero, and Dan da Dan, can all have great animation, but OPM, nah.

Not happy about the style change for CM. I think it looks pretty generic but atleast we're moving forward.
Wait, what was wrong with Chainsaw Man? I thought it was super well animated and highly entertaining.

s1's director went for a more grounded and low-key approach when from what i hear the manga is more bombastic and out of pocket. Definitely not a bad looking show, just creative differences

The anime is great but (IMO) the manga has gone to shit

basically the first arc is amazing all the way through (this should be season 1, the upcoming movie, and a season 2)
and the second arc starts great but has just become boring over time

The tone and style was a different take compared to the manga. The manga is very fast and outright shitposty at times, while the anime took a more cinematic approach

I happen to prefer the manga, but the animation quality itself of CSM isnt really the issue most people take with it

I think Railgun sometimes looks great, so they can do well at times.

That's the saddest part of all this for me. JC Staff are fully capable of delivering great animation, but in the past 10 years it feels like they only pull out all the stops for Railgun and maybe Danmachi, while everything else gets anywhere between "good" and "terrible".

JC Staff is no madhouse but they can be fine. OPM after Season 1 just doesn't really have the content to make for a good show anyway so they're not putting the effort in.
Imo lucky stars 2nd season wasnt as good. Too many new chars for one thing.

i also liked this anime called darker than black and apparently the 2nd season is totally different.

not sure about psycho pass season 2.

2nd season of Darker than Black is indeed totally different.

Psycho Pass season 2 has a lot of different creative staff, but I think it's still good. The movie is by the people involved in Season 1.

Psycho Pass season 2 and 3 is written by Tow Ubukata who wrote Fafner. Knowing that is nice since Fafner is one of my most favourite series ever and it's absolute kino. Ubukata wrote such a great story. So as someone that didn't watch Psycho Pass yet, him writing it is something to look forward to about when I get around to watching it.

Gotcha. The Manga if whole arcs are being redone doesn't sound worth reading at this point. Still may pick up the web comic again.

Also the director mischaracterised a bunch of characters, especially Makima. She isnt supposed to be a weird psycho who has a smile on her face all the time.

People on the anime board did comparisons with panels from the manga that frames her in a very different way than the anime.

Tbf, Season 3 can't even be considered animation most of the time. It's not an anime, but rather just a prettier manga display, but tries to claim otherwise.

YaBoyRoshi, one of the big reaction channels on Youtube which has three enormous weebs, gave up after the third episode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nz9j18MzI0

At 3:19, the editor speeds up a scene and it's still fifteen full seconds of slow panning across a still image. And that's just the one still image, the scenes they show immediately before and after are two people sitting down with the only visible animation being a gorilla setting down a cup of coffee.

At 8:17, the episode's big fight scene is so bad that Sheera just bursts out laughing because it's so garbage and choppy.

And at 10:47, they talk about how it's so badly animated. Roshi says that anime is meant to enhance what's in the manga, but the animation is so bad that it's making it worse. You're still getting a still image, you may as well read the manga where the image is better illustrated.

I've never watched OPM, I have no stake in this game, but goddamn the animation in this video alone. I've seen more fluid animatic for Epic: The Musical people made for free on Youtube.

S3Ep3 had one of the most embarrassing fuck-ups I've ever seen in an anime.

https://i.imgur.com/U7ol4cr.jpeg

This is a dude. Male voice, male pronouns, everything. And yet, whichever animator worked on this scene drew him with boobs (and fairly big ones) multiple times during this battle scene, then he reverted back to his normal male physique after the battle. How does a studio fuck up so badly that an animator completely genderflips a character for one scene by mistake because they don't know enough about what they're supposed to be animating? Whether this scene was outsourced or if J.C. Staff themselves fucked this up in-house, it's embarrassing either way.
