I had a great time with it.

Just know that it's more akin to an old flash game than a AAA whatever.

It's fine. More a time waster than something that really stands up.

I don't need to worry about if it's good or not if I'm not spending any of my hard earned money in it

Because I don't want to spend money on a game I don't like. But if it's free, I can at least try it with no risk. Same thing I do with PS Plus games. Some of those I really ended up enjoying too

but worry? is that the word you meant to use?

i do also somewhat struggle to grasp that other people dont know ahead of time whether or not they'll like something. that's another thing @archizzy gets

Same. It's really not rocket science. All it takes is knowing what you like and not writing/designing the damn thing in your head and being pissed off when it didn't listen to your ideas.

Thanks!

This doesn't apply to the console versions btw. I have always been curious why when such things happen only one version is made free. The only Exception was Metro 2033 a couple months ago.

I for sure get that. I know for sure whether I'm interested in something or not. Being free never changes that for me.

Yes, that is the word I intended to use. I don't mean worry in the literal sense. It's more just saying, it's not something I need to think about beforehand.

i do also somewhat struggle to grasp that other people dont know ahead of time whether or not they'll like something. that's another thing @archizzy gets
And I don't think that's true 100% of the time. Yes, I do generally know what things I already like, but there are always exceptions.

For example, I generally love JRPGs, but despite that fact, I've hated every Dragon Quest game I've tried. So I've decided that franchise just isn't for me. But I wouldn't have known that without playing it, since I generally love the genre.

And conversely, I've tried games that were completely different from what I normally enjoyed and found that, hey I actually like these types of games too. I couldn't know that ahead of time because I had no prior experience with the genre. I've also had genres that I thought I hated, but I didn't hate the genre, I just specifically hated the game that was my first experience with the genre.

So I try not to close myself off from trying something new just because I think I don't like it.

Also note: This is not intended as an attack on the way you do things. Just explaining my rational for trying games to see if I like them

I keep forgetting Epic exists far too often to have built up such a library.
