Somebody check the computers of those judges
Americas policy of mandatory minimum sentences in drug cases is pretty terrible.

Consider for a moment that this isnt about the details of the case (which isnt being argued here) but rather over the sentencing.

I don't like the age difference argument at all. It doesn't matter if your partner is a similar age the creation and distribution of erotic pictures of children is illegal, period. Doesn't matter if the person who made it is underage they still broke the law by creating it and then sending it out and if the boyfriend kept it he is also breaking the law. It's not moral because they are similar ages they both broke the law and pretty sure most underage people know what they are doing in that instance is illegal. I'm firmly against mandatory minimums but let's not pretend the argument of small age gap somehow makes the action not problematic. How often do high school sweethearts stay together? Is that picture going to stay in his private file once they break up? When he's 30 or 40 is he still going to have it and still be looking at it?
I'm an artist at what I do. I fuel the fire, watch it burn, and laugh all the while.

Literally no one is arguing this.

I don't disagree with this in that objectively mandatory minimums are ridiculous.

So are you saying if you were 18 years old and your 17 year old partner sent you a naughty picture that you never even asked for that you deserve to spend a year in prison?
The commercial says that Church isn't for perfect people, I guess that's why I'm an atheist.
