Gears of war as a IP was my life during my 360 years. *That I left for awhile when judgement dropped.*

Gears of war 3 is my 3rd favorite video game of all-time.

Yeah, I really loved gears of war 1 for it's time. The online play really had its jank, but it was a lovable kind of jink. The campaign was really cool for it's time and had a horror type of vibe to it. (This vibe is lost a bit with the remaster since the colors got a bit more contrast to it and everything was brightened up/the lighting change. The original version of this game was made around that brown n' gray that was the style at the time, and so its going to look off with just some lightning changes).

The original 3 games had great OSTs too that I still hum in my head today. Really brought you into the world and their struggle.

Never had interest in most of the Microsoft games which is why never bought an Xbox or played them. I know both Gears and Halo were big franchises for them but zero interest from me. Fable was the series that interested me outside the two Mistwalker games under the legend Hironobu Sakaguchi

Back when my taste in video games was different in high school, it was my favorite game. I beat the campaign on every difficulty, back when I rarely ever beat any games. I played online a ridiculous amount and stopped when I got the "Seriously..." achievement. All these years later, I still remember a bunch of the maps in detail.

I replayed it a few years ago and thought it was good-very good, but not great.

Yeah I loved 1 and 2. Got the remaster of 1 on PS5 (wow to even say that) and still enjoy it, though it is way more dated than my memory recalls from nigh 20 years ago but time makes fools of us all

I'd like to try it but the idea of buying a single overpriced remaster rather than getting a trilogy of them like Mass Effect is LOL.

Was mostly a PlayStation/Nintendo gamer growing up, but I did get a 360 for the Halo series, and it was 100% worth the hype for that. Loved every single entry of Halo and I understood why it was so popular, one of my favorite gaming series.

But I just could never get into Gears of War, the other popular mainstream Xbox gaming series.

I played the first one and beat the campaign, and I just dont get why it was so popular. The gameplay was so bland to me, and the story/characters never hit with me either. Never bothered to play any other games in the series after that.

Maybe one day Ill go back and try to get back into the series again, but its a series that never stood out to me. Found it very overrated at the time for sure.

I just recently played the Reloaded version on PS5 back in Sept.

I've never owned any Xbox console so it was my first experience with Gears of War and it was kind of meh. I enjoyed it enough to finish it but it's not something I see myself ever replaying and I thought it was pretty underwhelming for something I thought was supposed to be one of Xbox's big name franchises.

Yup, fantastic game. A main reason I got an Xbox 360 back in the day. Always liked the series more than Halo.

First bump

Really depends on when people played it tbqh. Back when it came out, the most you got from cover shooters were Winback or Kill Switch, both eh games. Gears really brought the cover shooter waist high intense gameplay to the forefront. I played it at launch and it was awesome. Playing it now, it feels extremely simple and dated but that makes sense.

Used to play it and its multiplayer a lot in the 360 era.

Yeah, gameplay feels so good. Coop was a ton of fun, too. My friend and I played through it back in college when it first released.

I played 1 back in 2009 and I recall enjoying it, but I don't think I could tell you a thing about the game or the plot at this point. Never played the other ones.

For the record, that's a yes vote from me, but I just find it funny that it didn't stick with me at all.

Gears of War 3 is the pinnacle of the series for me, but Gears 1 is still a great classic.
