Got the boot back in June due to company budget cuts and have spent the last five months looking for work with no success. Got a call out of the blue from my old supervisor last week saying that my position was opening up again and asked if I'd be interested in coming back. Said yes. This afternoon he reached out to extend a verbal offer.

I start in two weeks. Same position and pay, but different hours. While I'm extremely grateful to be getting a paycheck again, there was a lot about the job I didn't like unfortunately. Plus my hours will now be overnights, which will be a huge and probably challenging adjustment. But I'm trying to stay positive! Thankfully I had a great supervisor who made the initiative to reach out and offer me the job, which he didn't have to do.

Glad it worked out. I remember your topic about working 3rd shift. I commented in that one.

Congrats.

Weird thing is. I might be getting my old job back after 8 months of being furloughed too. My company was able to find a partner and get some funding. It's not set in stone, but there's a 50% chance I'm coming back. I don't know how to feel. I have mixed emotions...

If you're not getting a differential for overnight hours, your position is lesser, and you're taking a pay cut.

Should have leveraged a pay increase for yourself, but I understand you're going through it

If those pigs needed you so much they came crawling back, make em pay.

Hope it works out well for you TC
