I might be remembering wrong, man I was back in college during the time of the brief Dem Congress, but I do recall those two fucking up votes for Biden's more progressive proposals.
There were issues, but it wasn't like this. They were stubborn assholes, but a
lot
of good stuff got passed through them. There's a big difference between "how good can we make this bill" versus "will healthcare subsidies still be paid?"
Manchin actually lied to McConnell at one point that he didn't support the infrastructure bill so McConnell would let the GOP vote for it on the floor. Manchin switched his vote to a yes and the bill passed
