What's insane about it? For a lot of these long series the art improves as it goes on. The art is more polished looking after the time skip even if it looks less unique than when it began. Bleach is in the same boat. The art at the start was more unique looking, but way less polished and visually appealing than the art in the final years. They look like different series altogether
The only one I can think of that gets worse is HxH because it just looks like scribbles these days until it's cleaned up
