There was a topic going on but I think it purged now
I also liked the sequel more than the original, and I had already seen the original years ago and then rewatched it the night before seeing 2049. Better pacing and editing, and I liked K as a protagonist more than Deckard. And of course it's fuckin gorgeous and cinematography porn
Something that I questioned that popped into my head this morning though, how did Love break into the LAPD, not once, but twice with zero resistance? Like what kind of station are they running? Lol

You don't think Wallace has close direct connections with the police, and so a visit from his personal replicant assistant would be something they comply with? I just took it that she came in normally, and says more about the ongoing corruption of the LAPD. But that's just my own theory.

Well that's definitely a possibility, and she did kill the only witness the first time she got it...
What about Deckard's daughter? Did she really have an autoimmune disease or was that just used as a reason to keep her? Also, didn't she recognize her own memory when she saw it in K? And how come K had her memory anyway?Sorry just thinking about all this stuff lol
Anyway, so the original was very different than I thought it'd be. I didn't love it but it was a good movie. Left a lot of questions though. I gotta say the sex scene was extremely rapey and left me pretty uncomfortable...

Also, K is not the only one with one of her memories, as per what the resistance leader said about everyone with one of her memories "hoping that they're the one [who is a child of a replicant]"

Weird. I didn't get that impression at all.
I thought the resistance leader was just saying that in general, like it was something they had each desired, regardless of specific memories.
