My thermostat wasn't displaying anything and I got new batteries for it.

In the aftermath of me installing said batteries, I was able to turn the furnace on, and heat was applied to my home.

So I've posted a topic explaining how I have gotten the heat back on in this entire post and now I'm warmed.

The furnace went on almost instantly. Clearly I'm receiving the benefit of a basic home amenity.

Been using this site for nearly 13 years and this is the most expected, yet pleasant thing that I've ever seen.

So... since I haven't turned on the furnace in 7 months, can anyone here give me a heads up on how long that lasts?

It's opened up my ability to wear a t-shirt inside my house.

I would totally understand if the furnace had issues turning on, but that s*** would have been annoying.

I non-explicitly suggested that I believed the president was a sexual deviant and now I'm almost banned.

Does DT own my furnace now?

I had this problem last week, but new batteries did not solve the problem, so the apartment tech got us a new thermostat.
Now we are sufficiently warmed.

Got any actual input Egg?

Remember when we talked about thermostats and whatnot. That was waaaaaay more banal than talking about orgies and therefore was never modded.

I have a full grasp of what's going on here.

Would you mind letting me know how long a warmed house is supposed to last? It's happened to me almost half the time I've been here and I legit would like to know.

I won't bother trying to argue the unchecked modding practices since that clearly will never change but I was trying to sift through the TOS and I can't seem to find the info for length of the warming.

Too on the nose? Have you seen photos of me in my warm house?

Either way there is nothing in the TOS that says you can't have a functional furnace and thermostat.

And I didn't manually turn it on. I said I "installed the batteries" which changes the entire thermostat.

Maybe the mods could actually use the TOS instead of their personal opinions to mod people? Also I'm warm.

What does a cold or warm house have to do with anything? You can be uncomfortable in a house of any temperature.

Hell, I am sure there are pictures of me and my warm house in a similar uncomfortable condition as the one you are describing above.

Why don't you tell me if you think that photo there is ok. There are two numbers in these kind of photos. Any sane adult can tell you the heat is working.

Other than that I'm just not going to entertain this anymore since I'm not interested in getting cold.

Anyway, I did just find info on frugalvillage.com that I didn't notice was there before.

"We turn our [heat] off some time in February, but if it is still cold then we wait until April.."

Well they obviously like to save on electricity by turning their heat off in Febuary, but if it gets too cold, they will wait until April to turn the heat off...in favor of air conditioning, I'm sure.
