Need a poll option for "I die inside; my life becomes meaningless"

When I lost my DDR, or NCAA Football dynasty save file, I just kinda sat and incredulously stared into the void for a while. I hate when I put a ton of time into something and lose my records/progress.

The worst one was Perfect Dark (although it was because a former roommate accidentally took the cartridge when he moved out) which had almost a decade of recordkeeping from me, my sisters and my friends.

The day my Gamecube 1019 card corrupted was a bad one. Apparently the Wii had a tendency to corrupt those for whatever reason.

I'm just thankful that I didn't lose my Melee or Phantasy Star Online data.

oh Melee would be brutal, unlocking everything including trophies takes like 1000 hours.

I lost my Wii U save data and I was very close to finishing everything in Smash 4

I never put the game in my Wii U again, I was so completely defeated.

I saved just before the final boss in Paper Mario only for the file to simply vanish the next time I booted it up.

The Memory card with my Suikoden I & II all 108 Stars playthroughs died, and it felt like a piece of me died with it.

This is also god awful and worthy of its own support group topic! Had this happen to me on Link's Awakening. I never experienced the apparently brilliant ending (though I obviously know the gist of what happens) or the final boss because I saved right before it, and my file was suddenly gone the next day.

I really should go buy it from the 3DS eshop and replay it now that it's been like 10 years since this happened to me. It was one hell of a game.

My Wii became corrupted.
I was so frustrated that I just completely stopped playing my Wii for years, never in fact getting to several games (Like Twilight Princess and Boom Blox).
Everything including the avatars that I spent many many hours on were gone.

IDK what the roommates did, but I just assume they did something.

Also there was a time my Golden Sun would not save.
I left the DS plugged in for 3 weeks trying to beat the game (Mostly while I was on vacation). One day it somehow shut off and I felt so bad. I wound up buying another copy and beating it several years later.

The GameStop manager called me a liar after I went back and said that the GBA game's battery was dead (in the middle of a separate) conversation with him. (I bought the game there from him actually). I went from thinking that guy was an alright guy to a complete trash heap in an instant. "GBA batteries don't die". Yeah well, mine did and you are wrong. But no, I am the liar and crazy person. I wanted to deck him right there on the spot honestly with the attitude he was throwing for no reason. He threw a lot of attitude. I didn't blame him or Gamestop either, just merely stated that it was weird that the battery was dead when I bought it, becasue it was a newer game. I would have returned it but I basically bought the game and 30 minutes later was in a car heading for Florida for 2 weeks.

My attitude has changed since free time has become scarcer. I lost my save file for Dragon Warrior IV back in the day, and I decided to try again with a new character. I chose a female for my main character, and I leveled her and the rest of the cast all the way up to 99. I could solo the final boss at that point, and I made a point of it by leaving the wagon with all of the other characters behind just to see what would happen. (The wagon shows up anyway after you win.)
