With the Division Finals currently running, we know you're interested in what's coming up for the rest of the contest, so here's what we have planned (barring technical difficulties):
All "days" are UTC (starting at 4PM Pacific/7PM Eastern):
Nov Fri 16 - Mon 19: Division Finals, 2 per day (113-120)
Nov Tue 20 - Mon 26: No battles, Second Chance Bracket entries open
Nov Tue 27 - Fri 30: Winner Bracket Round 1, 2 battles per day (121-128)
Dec Sat 1 - Sun 2: Loser Bracket Round 1, 2 battles per day (129-132)
Dec Mon 3 - Tue 4: Winner Bracket Round 2, 2 battles per day (133-136)
Dec Wed 5 - Thu 6: Loser Bracket Round 2, 2 battles per day (137-140)
Dec Fri 7: Winner Bracket Semifinal 1 (141)
Dec Sat 8: Winner Bracket Semifinal 2 (142)
Dec Sun 9: Loser Bracket Round 3, 2 battles (143-144)
Dec Mon 10: Loser Bracket Round 4, 2 battles (145-146)
Dec Tue 11: Winner Bracket Final (147)

Once the final 16 characters are determined on Tuesday, we'll open up user image submissions. You'll be able to submit both foreground and background images for each character, 240 x 120 pixels.
A foreground image should focus solely on the character, with the middle third potentially centered (on narrow mobile devices), be a PNG with a transparent background (as the current images are), submitted facing to the right, and reversible depending on which side of the bracket they'll be facing. There's not a lot of room for creativity here, and we already have default images set up and ready to go, but alternates are more than welcome. A background image should be a bit muted (as the character will be in the foreground), but can represent the character and their game(s) as creatively as you want. We suggest overlaying the default foreground images on top to make sure that they'll look good when they're put together.

Kinda wish you asked for this weeks ago when people had issues with multiple R1 pics. They probably didnt change any results, but a few in particular were just very ugly to look at. A few guys here were even super excited waiting to be asked to make pics. Now it sorta feels like it only mattered for the elite section of the contest

I just dont know how to make a background have a bunch of fancy stuff but still be muted and have a bunch of it still be visible (especially big characters like Bowser if you want to do things like include the Peach crown)

i was just gonna do what me, KP and Ulti did back in the day when we were just starting out and had no artistic skill at all and take screenshots from games and just blur/sponge tool them
it's not high art but there's not much you can do with these backgrounds and have them work with every single submitted image. we don't even know what allen is gonna accept into rotation.
