I really wanted the worst possible version of the movie made with zero self-awareness. If they know how bad it looked in the trailer, they'll clean it up to be just bland instead of hilariously terrible. Hopefully they'll keep in Jim Carey's ham.

Honestly it's nice that they're making an attempt to fix Sonic but if the leaked plot is true then the same people complaining still aren't going to like this movie. They're putting in a lot of effort to appease people who aren't going to like the movie anyway

Have any of the VFX artists complained about crunch? There's a difference between defending a company and not mindlessly blaming them for an issue that nobody is complaining about.
If the working conditions are bad you should definitely blame them but you're just assuming they're bad. Maybe all of the workers are fine? Maybe all of them are getting whipped and locked in cages? Maybe some of them are happy to have a job for an extra 3 months

Even then, February is becoming less and less of a dumping ground. Outside of the big comic book movies (Deadpool, Black Panther) there's been some strong animated releases (Lego Movie 1 + 2, Train your Dragon 3, Spongebob) or other stuff (John Wick 2, Fifty Shades movies, Get Out, Kingsman) that found success in February. None of which Sonic really aligns to, but still.
January is pure dump, so the studio hasn't FULLY given up on it.

The one thing I am fairly confident of is that all the people complaining about the crunch are vastly overestimating (or overselling) the amount of work they must have had done in the first place to get a trailer out.
