No Persona 5, no A Hat in Time, no Tales... this is kind of yikes. At least Stardew Valley and Portal 2 are highly ranked, but still. This list doesn't have much holding it together.

It's also missing The Witcher III, God of War, and both Red Dead Redemption games.

Though if they're so desperate for clicks RIGHT NOW that they can't even wait another 3 months to make a list once the decade is actually over, it shouldn't be that surprising if the list is bad.

Thumper at #2 is one of the only "what?" choices, and some people adore that game. El Shaddai (remember that game?) making it at all let alone #40, and Control as high as #6 already are also eyebrow raising. However, it's a good list overall, with a great mix of very different games. Year Walk made it so that's great. Also the correct #1. I expect many more lists with that choice...

I think THIS says more about GTAV though. For all the amazing reviews and the continued gigantic sales, that game has kind of disappeared from the critical discussion, the only more rapid vanishing I can think of for a big prestige game is Bioshock Infinite from the same year.

That's very true, I suppose it's still fresh in my mind because I have a couple friends who still play it regularly (It's a fine game just never got into online), and to see it completely ignored is strange. I'd all but forgotten about Bioshock Infinite though so I know what you mean.

Must have skimmed over it the first time because Control at #6 seems insane. That game is very okay (great story, so-so gameplay).

They were pretty good kids games, they really didnt have much in terms of depth, but for young kids they were a pretty good open world type of game.

i'm not going to criticize placements too much because it's impossible to make an "objective" list and i'm sure all 100 games on it are really good, but

Minit being at 41 is the one thing here that makes me laugh. I've played Minit. It's a good game. I liked it. But placing it 20+ spots higher than stuff like Celeste or Ori and the Blind Forest is just... not correct.

El Shaddai sucked me and my buddy in for a night. We rented it on a whim when renting still existed. Very weird and unique game. In retrospect the gameplay was awful

none of the games on this list that i've played are bad- the list could be worse.

the only one i'm raising an eyebrow at is alan wake being so high. on second thought- control is made by the same company as alan wake. putting on my conspiracy hat, Garrett Martin either *really* likes Remedy Entertainment or was paid to do so

Also, while i'm glad Kentucky Route Zero exists as a unique piece of art art, I don't think it's as amazing of a game as this list implies.

Including a dinky phone game like 'threes' says something about the list as well.

there are a lot of snubs- i agree with everyone else in the topic. No avoiding it, but it creates discussion.

At least this list has some titles I didn't know about. It'd be pretty boring if it was all stuff I had already enjoyed
