Essentially. Aside from being 94 until this last week and a half there was nothing specifically wrong with him aside a lack of desire to drink or eat much or really do anything.

Advokaiser makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion.
He had told us take him to the hospital this is it way back in September 2018.

The human body can be quite resilient.
I'm sorry red, I know all too well how tough this can be.

Sorry to hear.
cmon girl, let me rock your world
As bad as it sounds, given red's other topics about his grandpa, this may come as more of a relief than a sad loss.
Change is weird.
Yeah everyone here is super sad and I feel bad but to me the feeling is mostly relief.
Im glad youre holding up.

Sorry for your loss. Its sad when someone is at the end of their life and just sort of fades away, but at least it didnt sound super painful.

We had to throw together impromptu Thanksgiving here instead of at my aunts house.
Yeah sorry for your loss, but given everything you've said the past year, happy for you?
I dont think I'd necessarily call it happy. Being surrounded by sad people is certainly not a great way to spend a day and there definitely is nothing happy about someone dying.

But the overwhelming feeling is definitely relief. I'd said months ago when he finally died I wouldn't be sad, I was right. When someone changes so drastically from the person you knew them as I suppose the grief happens slowly over time rather than suddenly.

There is a weird feeling of finality to it all that I probably couldn't properly describe, but it is not sadness.

Also today I learned that they can round for time of death(it was listed as 11:20 but this topic clearly notes it was 11:17).
Also thank you all for the kind words and such.
Im both relieved for you and sympathetic for yours and your families loss. I lost my grandparents this year too. One in May and the other in August.
My condolences. I didn't see those topic yesterday or I would have offered them sooner.

I lost an uncle a week ago. He had been battling brain cancer for a while and it got really bad near the end so I understand the relief. It's not happiness that he died, just that the struggle is over.
Also life goal of don't die before grandparents complete. Now to not die before parents and then the longterm goal of outlive some arbitrary people born after me.

Soon I will be done with the troubles of the world
My condolences, Red.

My uncle was in somewhat of a similar state, for years he just didn't seem like he intend to live and my aunt and cousin had to take care of him. After he passed away about 4 months ago and the family grieved, there was a big sense of relief. My aunt could go out again and took care of her house and stuff, and she seems happier too, and she tends to reminisce the good times with my uncle.
