Maybe we could word it as:
Beat a game you received for free or through a paid subscription service
There'd be plenty of games for people who subscribe to those services (I'd even argue something like Humble Bundle Monthly should count) but anyone who doesn't would still have birthday gifts, or just straight-up free games on Steam.
