I actually believe that if Allen did do a cap, it was more than likely to keep fodder series from having multiple entrants, instead of hampering the big series like Zelda and Mario, when in reality there just wasn't enough nominations for Skyward Sword or 3D World.

However, that statement is more of a "just in case," because a 90s bracket absolutely needs the big series unchained for it to work.

I'm not concerned about the big names either. Mario 3, SMW, and Mario 64 would be just fine, but something like Yoshi's Island could be in trouble if a company cap was actually used, and that's something that would absolutely hurt the early rounds in a 128 game bracket, because those are the games we have the least data on, and yet have the strength to make for interesting bracket placement.

It's not a first, though most often it doesn't happen.

Previous people to do so are Ulti in BGE in 2004, KrahenProphet in BGEII in 2009 and Dr. Football in CBVIII in 2010, although unlike the other three, Dr. Football wasn't #1 on the leaderboard losing to a single fun bracket...

Also, a limit of 2 games per series would actually work against Allen because it means FFIV wouldn't make it into a Game of the 1990s contest. It's worth noting here since FFIV is Allen's favorite game. We would only get FFVI and FFVII in that contest if he imposed a limit of 2 games per series.

Everyone who scored 389+, and 4 of the 8 best tiebreakers at 388 made the top 100. I squeaked in with the 388 & a decent tiebreaker, having lost 32 points from the Skyrim vs. Witcher 3 semifinal - the one match I spent the longest time going back & forth on. Needless to say, when the 2nd chance opportunity came, I immediately hedged with the other game as the winner, but also eliminating any shot I would have had at winning 2 prizes.

I guess LastHeroDrew is the real champion of this contest - grand prize in 2nd chance and 7th place in the main bracket!
