GOAT album, do not discuss
Born to bear and bring to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see
If I have no interest in the heavy metal genre, would Crack the Skye be anything I would enjoy? Could it be one of those albums that is accessible enough to people on the outside looking in?

As someone who doesn't really care for metal, I like Mastodon
never heard it
Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination

I always thought so. the elements that make this album in particular so great are the psychedelia, the different vocal tones, and the repeating motifs - and it's not any kind of extreme, like harsh vocals or blast beats.

I think its good if you like Sludgy bands like QOTSA/Alice in Chains or prog moreso than metal tbqh

I came in to make a dumb joke about it being metal related and now I'm at a loss
Mastodon is a good band
while you slept, the world changed
I remember this being a big B8 thing for a while
I'd Rather Be A Savage Little Elephant, than be a big Bald Bull
"I claim one line in your sig" = TheKnightOfNee
What if I only know Mastadon from Aqua Teen Hunger Force?

what would you say is a really good track from this album?
yet all azuarc of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness

Crack the Skye, Ghost of Karelia, Last Baron are my three favorites personally

I've had Oblivion in my Spotify Liked Songs forever but haven't ever spun the whole album.

Guess today would be a good day to rectify that.

my favourite is The Last Baron but I feel like the opening track Oblivion is a perfect intro

Crack the Skye a 10/10 album. If you haven't heard the album before, just throw it on full play. Oblivion is a good intro to it, and will give you a peek at what's to come if you haven't listened to Mastodon before.
