Btw side note Disney is launching an attraction with what is basically day 1 DLC in a couple weeks. Horrible business practice that i hope flops.

Spider-Man ride?

After a (very quick) skim, it looks it's a device that lets you shoot more things in a virtual interactive ride? I don't really see what's wrong with that. Didn't Universal have those Harry Potter wands that interact with different things in the park? I'd argue that is worse.

Sure, they are trying to find a way to make more money, but it's not hindering the fun of the people who don't have it.

I'd argue in the case of the Harry Potter wands, you'd see things that simply do nothing (which is worse). In the Spider-Man ride, you still get to shoot everything...you just can't multi-shoot or something, which most people probably wouldn't even know about?
Bells, bells, bells!
Nope, Red is not scum. Red is lying to you. Lynch Red, not Red.

The wands do nothing on attractions.

I guess I just don't understand the difference. In both scenarios, you pay for entry into the park, have access to all of the free features because of it (attractions, shows, interactive environments, etc), but are being denied a small bonus feature that doesn't detract from the full experience.

I'm not a fan of this being a thing mind you, because it will quickly escalate into a situation where it will definitely deny features that are important later.

From what it sounds like the new Spider-Man attraction is going to be a "game" ride, like the Toy Story ones, where you can compete for points. If you actually cared about that it would suck to not do as well if you don't buy the add-on toy. Also, it's 65 freaking dollars in total.

On the other, I guess it's not that different from buying the lightsaber in the Star Wars land. If you're a fan and want the thing, I guess it's cool for you.
Okay, I rolled a 14. What's that mean? Hsu

So if you are riding with your son or nephew and he has one, he gets to rub in your face that he beat you. And if not, you are on an even playing field. The horror!

Literally pay to win, yep.

I don't know if I've ever thought about winning a ride, but it's also been a loong time since I've been to a theme park
You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

It has definitely become a thing where a cheap way to develop a ride is to just make it s video game on a track.
I could be convinced to do Disney 2
