Seeking a good identity theft protection service

I got some news from my healthcare provider that somebody scooped up my information along with a bunch of other people's. I'm not clear on the "how", just that it happened and I needed to be notified. I'm now seeking to limit the potential damage.

Do any of you have any recommendations for identity theft protection companies? I know about Lifelock, but they're aligned with Norton now and I don't want the antivirus software.
