Outstanding. A lot of the complaints here didn't apply to me at all - I never really felt like I had to practice any routes or rush. I guess I did some stuff in a weird order (like not finding the underwater structure until very very late in the game).
I was terrified of those bastards (and I've gone from being scared of them to actively disliking them now given what they did to Prisoner) at first but once I knew their deal and that they were only used in specific places at specific times I got over it - like I said the vast majority of the place is safe. With that said, the Prisoner's hand reaching from the darkness was the biggest jump I got. Bastards.
Much like the main game I guess I took it much slower than many did but I'm fine with that. I love how the combinations were a red herring, although I'd have been more fooled by that had I found the area earlier when I was "supposed" to by swimming through the submerged structure (similarly in the main game I ended up doing the Attlerock like last or something).
The final exchange of info with him and his reaction was so great. This game consistently does so much with so little. It draws big reactions from me with the smallest changes. The swelling of the main theme when showing him my knowledge of the solar system was really emotional.
I still didn't see the changed ending, I'll do that later this week as well as cleaning up the rest of the trophies.
Just some scattered thoughts. But this was genuinely fantastic. As good as anything in the main game.
It does slightly change my perception of the main game. I always thought the Eye was sentient and had deliberately stopped broadcasting to the Nomai, but had done enough to lure them to the system - therefore allowing the Nomai to set things up for
me
to enter the eye even
though they wouldn't be able to themselves. But it turns out the Eye would have continued its broadcast were it not for those thunderbastards.
Anyway, much like the rest of the game, 10/10
