#4 Psychonauts 2 (PS4/X1/PC)
Developer:Double Fine

17 years later the sequel has arrived and it has really what everyone wanted. A gorgeous followup of the 3d platformer original with all those juicy powers. You should probably play the first game if you want to really have the best feel of this world. Hope you like collectibles!

three spots too low

but hey, good job everybody. pretty close.

psychonauts 2 is incredible and also a huge nice surprise that it turned out so good after the weird long development

I started a newbie playthrough a few months ago. I'm planning to jump back in soon. My big issues are honestly with the controls and the online/co-op aspect. It's fairly lenient in how you have to interact with people, but it is an MMO and so you do have to "play your class a certain way" and be cognizant of how other people think of you, which is just not why I play games in general

Also original A Realm Reborn seems to be super boring/slow

im playing XIV now and I was so excited because I was finally going to beat the main ARR story

then I found out theres like 60 (80?) quests added in patches that I still need to get through before I hit the first expansions stuff

arrrrrrfgghh

I actually enjoyed the patch content for ARR. It's a lot more intriguing than anything ARR proper did.

How much of 14 can you play for free? I hate that it has a monthly fee
stop victory lapping around your desk, your chair has rollers, it's not even really exercise
Currently Playing: Subnautica Below Zero
ARR and Heavensward, along with the patches for both. It took me around 150 hours mainlining the story and important side quests. I paid for one additional month on top of that to finish the game back when I played through it last year, and I'd have to do another month on top of that now that Endwalker's out.
All the stars in the sky are waiting for you.
I thought Psycho might not make it on the list once we got this high, with it not being on Sony/Nint consoles. Glad it's here (though I haven't gotten around to it yet myself).

So the top three must be RE, Metroid and Ace Attorney in some order, surely.

None right now because the game is too congested and the free trial players can't get in.

Should cool down within the month if I had to guess.

Oh whoops, don't know why I thought MS had it as an exclusive. That makes more sense.

#3 The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (PC/Switch/PS4)
Developer: Capcom

While some have played fan translations the majority of gamers were waiting for this glorious day. Great Ace Attorney Chronicles contains both Great Ace Attorney titles localized and the first new content for Westerners since Spirit of Justice in 2016

#2 Resident Evil Village (Everything but Switch)
Developer: Capcom
Resident Evil 3 Remake (#15th in 2020)
Resident Evil 2 Remake (#4 in 2019)
Resident Evil 7 (#4 in 2017)
Resident Evil: Revelations (#36 in 2012)

The second part of the new RE trilogy of first person Survival Horror continues. For casual gamers its all about Lady Dimitrescu and for fans of the series its all about Ethans quest to lose his hand as much as possible.

#1 Metroid Dread (Switch)
Developer: Mercury Steam
Metroid Samus Returns (#19th in 2017)

Many figured Samus Returns would bring some kinda Metroid, but most figured we'd be seeing Prime 4 as well. Dread was announced out of nowhere and had the mic drop effect like very few announcements do but all strive for. No game is truly perfect even the best of the year, but the fact this game put Metroid back on the map and people backed it up with their wallets? It should mean a very promising future for this series indeed.

B8 being the biggest voting group will usually be the majority, in this case 70%? 65%?

Thanks a lot for running this, especially if you had other stuff going on!

Where did The Forgotten City end up? Also 4 of my top 11 predix didn't make it so I might as well check on them too if it's not too much to ask- Life is Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Deathloop and Eastward?

Kena is ass. Very poorly designed game.

I quite enjoyed it even though it couldve been better. Wouldve been nice if it was longer at least.

#26 The Forgotten City
Oh man I didn't expect it to get so close, especially above Deathloop (very surprised that didn't make it in). Still, glad it got some appreciation and I expect it will become more well known over time.

And lol poor Eastward, I haven't played it but heard it was pretty great.

Village and Psychonauts 2 are the best games this year.
