I know for a lot of us, the first place we came out was Board 8. And that's because despite the occasional mean-spiritedness that crops up, B8 has always been a very excepting and open place when it comes to LGBTQ+ people. Hopefully this will always be a safe place for users to be open about who they really are.

I have a hard time not thinking of Pride Month as kind of corporate. But yes, it's better to look at the good side.

This board, though. It was almost at the center of me figuring out my sexual identity. There were some weird influences as well, but I met my boyfriend indirectly from here and formed an early support network for navigating that stuff.

I'm straight, but happy pride month anyway.

Most of our (mine and my husbands) friends are LGBTQ+ so we consider ourselves allies.

(Also, not all of the users in this board are open. I'm openly asexual and some users kept saying I want to have sex with Tails, which I don't. Sex-positive aces can and do exist, but I'm not one of them. I'd call myself sex-neutral. I have zero interest in sex or romance.

Also, even if I was straight/gay/bi, I'd never be sexually interested in child characters, human or not)

Happy Pride B8!

I do believe that this was where I first came out. I still haven't come out to my family (and likely never will), but knowing there are are people here (and IRL friends I came out to!) who will accept me does help me feel better.

especially these days I'll take it over the people who whine at them for being "woke" and infecting kids with the gay, shit's important for society to push back against

if anything I find it easier to clown on corps attempts to clout and use it to highlight where they're failing

Yeah, no. Shut the hell up, straight people are not, never were, and will never be decent allies, let alone open-minded. Life taught me that straight people are hateful and not to be trusted. A straight "ally" is like an Ukrainian person geniunely believing Putin can be a good ally, which obviously is not true.
