80 through 59 reviews.

Probably about the best that can be expected from a Musou game even with FE attached, but sounds good enough for me since I adore Three Houses and need more Edelgard.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
Based on the demo and the final mission of Chapter 1 I played after it unlocked just now, it seems pretty solid to me, even though I typically have no interest in these games.

Now to take it away in the corner until I beat Somnium 2.

Demo was fun but the slowdown, not so fun.
It's Reyn Time.
in musou news I might pick up the Berserk one because it's currently 60% off on PSN

Omg the game found my Byleth's name from my three houses save file

I like Shez so far

So far I'll go ahead and say this is a lot more of a Three Houses game than it is a Warriors game.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

Haven't gotten to the second chapter's last mission yet and all but 3 characters are disgustingly underleveled, like 5 below. I can pay to level them, but...I can barely afford it, even with the import data money.

Am I just meant to grind?

I think so? Or spend the gold. Or just use only a smaller amount of units.

Aww man, does Seteth not appear enough to ask favors of me?

Getting better equipment makes it easier to use lower level units

It's weird how when it first released I always thought Hubert was one of the worst characters in Three Houses but as I went along and now in this game I realize he's one of the best.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
Hubert was probably my no. 1 by the end of Three Houses. I only played Edie route, but Hubert was always so fantastic. Such a good take on the dark advisor archetype.

I got a support with Hubert and Bernie (their only one) and it was absolutely amazing.

It literally ends with Hubert proposing a festival. Like not in jest, he is actually going to put one together.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
I feel like everyone goes through the same phase with Hubert.

The haircut and the try-hard voice acting was an initial turnoff.

Before I buy this, I get to play as edelgard right

You get a selection of Three Houses to pick - the one you pick, you get to play the students of.

Damn it takes a long ass time to get to advanced classes
I don't kill... but I don't lose either.
How does this game handle movesets? I didn't play the first Fire Emblem Warriors but I know there was a lot of cloning going on in that one. Do they break it down strictly by class in this one, or do the individual characters also have unique elements (maybe when in their "favorite" class?)
Let the voice of love take you higher,
With this gathering power, go beyond even time!
So far it's seemed like it's a mixture of weapon/class.

Myrmidon is basic sword. Mercenary is Myrmidon plus one combo spot. But Thief is a new moveset, which I assume will stay mostly the same going up to Assassin.

Shez is a much better protagonist than Byleth. Probably because they can actually speak in their game. Not really a high bar to cross.

None of the default class looks are better than the custom outfits they made for this game.

Which is kind of a bummer that everyone looks exactly the same at the start of the timeskip.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
Dorothea and Manuela talking about how they have to fight off basically rapists while being in an opera company is... something.

Hubert being so nice to Petra is so endearing.

I'm on chapter 12 of Scarlet Blaze. The game has honestly exceeded my expectations. I feel like a good chunk of it is pandering to the fanbase with some of these support conversations but I'm not one to shy away from being pandered to when it works, lol.

For the first chunk of the game I thought it was shaping up to be a grind fest to keep everyone leveled, but it all really clicked when I realized that level is practically irrelevant for like a 20ish level gap. As long as you've reclassed and have good gear, a level 20 can easily wreck a level 40 nap if you have the weapon advantage.

Unlike Houses, weapon advantage is SUPER important in this game.

I appreciate how fun this game is AND how much it makes me want to go back and finish up the Blue Lions route I was working on.

I just love the world of Three Houses/Hopes so much.
TheRock ~ I had a name, my father called me Blues.
Is it a mistake to start this game if Ive only played the Blue Lions route in Three Houses? havent even done the DLC house.

I haven't even played Three Houses but I've been loving this. Granted I skim through the story, but I'm still picking up on some things. Though I have wondered exactly how this game fits, is it an alternate timeline?

Probably will give Three Houses another shot after I'm done with this game, currently on ng+ which is brilliantly implemented. Nintendo really out does themselves with every new musou they develop and it's rather refreshing
I don't kill... but I don't lose either.
As a HUGE musou fan I have to say this game is the best spin off for sure and top 3 of musou games. If you have played Three Houses as I did then it is even better. There are so much stuff here, this game is basically Fire Emblem but having Musou combat. Just buy it!
So why we exist? What happens when we stop existing?

There will be route specific spoilers for the other paths but as far as Scarlet Blaze though it's been nothing devastating.

The Deer path is the worst one to be spoiled for in Houses though, I imagine that will hold true here. Saving it for last just like on the first game.

And I do think that's the most telling thing for me, that I do consider Houses the "First game".

Petra: That is why I am approaching you so early. Because I am very, very sneaky.

Oh Petra, you adorable little foreigner you.

Somehow managed to not hear about the units you can unlock with renown in NG+!

Wild.

Eagles done, on to Lions.

Are you approaching recruitment the way I am/did in Three Houses?

Eagles: pick and choose who I like
Lions: religious zealots so all who oppose must die.
Deer: it's a party and everyone's invited.

Oh I'm recruiting everyone period to maximize support profits.

I am a completionist, I would never not recruit lol.

God it wasn't that long ago that support conversations were nothing but two static images grunting at each other. How far we've come.

Experienced literally zero slowdown on my switch on either TV or Handheld mode. Finished Scarlet Blaze and starting Golden Wildfire on Hard mode. Impressed by how much more aggressive the AI is on Hard compared to Normal, they didn't just pump numbers to bloat difficulty. It's almost unfortunate my NG+ stats are making these first chapters on playthrough 2 so easy even with the difficulty bump. Really looking forward to these more aggressive mobs actually doing damage.

I started on hard my first playthrough. Not finding it all that difficult tbh

Not always getting s rank on missions but still

I like this game a lot but come on.

Maybe I'm just more sensitive to this kind of thing, because there was plenty, though it was never disruptively bad.

55 hours BTW

Are most Warriors games this long?? Almost as long as the Edelgard route in 3 houses (I assume there isn't a noteable difference in length between the campaigns in Hopes like there was in Houses)

It is long IF you decide to do everything in a route.

....OST browsing and I never knew there was a full version of Edge of Dawn.

I've listed to the OP version over 300 times <_<

Were you trying to Speedrun for Edie's route to only take a little over 55 hours?

In regular Three Houses? It's like...65 hours, maybe? It's like 5 or 6 chapters shorter than Golden Deer I think.
