Yeah same options, the winner is more than likely still in there. Germany felt like the biggest snub first time and that feels okay now.

The US were always going to need to beat Iran regardless if they were serious about progressing, so nothings really changed there. If they can do that they're looking good for 2nd place, barring England throwing against Wales.

Can't see England throwing against Wales no matter the result tonight. That Iran win means England can't win the group with a win but they will all but do so given the swing in goal difference.

AFC is looking really good in general, be it home advantage or not. Only Iran's first half against England and Qatar have looked bad.

I guess Australia is also part of that but they sure don't have any home advantage.

I tell you what Japan could shock the world and make the semi final. We've seen before they can go toe to toe with Belgium and a Portugal or Switzerland quarter final wouldn't be past them either.

You're right. I saw someone post a link announcing that Qatar were eliminated and without thinking it through I just assumed that was correct. My bad.

With that said, they may as well be given that they would need all three matches to go exactly their way and need to beat Netherlands by like, what, 3 goals?

Yeah, the tie probably favors Holland given their last opponents, but Ecuador deserved the victory more here. If people had not already changed their minds, Ecuador should still be the clear favorite against Senegal, especially now where goalscore ended up not even mattering.

Ecuador have probably been the best team in group A. Of the 3 though i'd defo want Senegal in the last 16 but i'll be surprised if they beat Ecuador.

I could see this team making a run in the future. Not this year, but if these young guys keep getting better, maybe we could compete in 2026.

Berhalter didnt adjust well at half, or really at all. Hope he learned from that. When Moore went in, the US should have switched things up for sure.

The team is very young, which is definitely partly because they view WC 2026 as their chance of getting far in one.
