..As seen through the view of Scarletspeed7's TTRPG

I am most likely the final participant in this ranking topic, unless Scar himself makes one himself, or others decide to go for a second ranking. Rankings are rankings, you get one you get the gist of it. My rankings may be a bit different in that I am the first person that has unlocked a second character. The second recently was also unlocked, but I do not believe Wickle will be doing a ranking. So some of these rankings are from 3 eyes in both characters and myself, and others could be just the one where the character had the impact on me directly. Regardless I love this campaign, I am quite the addict and this list was very difficult to make as my first run through had me list more than 150 characters. Expect many many honorable mentions.

But before we get to the ranking I have to introduce both Cynthia (aka Lush aka Ros) and Xander (aka Fastbreak)

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/4/5/AAJ38fAAEDmx.jpg

Cynthia Redford is about 22 and a native to Napa California, but she calls all of California her home as she resides in LA, SF, and even sometimes in Sacramento at any given time. But home is home and more often than not you could find her in Napa. Her family owns a winery called Redford Wine. At the young age of two her grandma dipped her pacifier in wine to give her a taste thinking it was cute. What happened though was little Cyndi reached out for a rose that started to blossom before them all. In time they would realize their little girl was special, she had an ability to influence plants. As she got a little older, she began assisting the winery herself, making incredible grapes and helping fast track some of the processing, it put Redword Wines on the map and her family made a lot of money off her hard work.

Cynthia has played the role of both villain and hero in her time in the cape community.
She was mostly a supercriminal that destroyed and stole property all up and down California; LA to The Bay. Her boyfriend Bolt and her had a showdown with their enemy The Blue Devil at the Warner Brothers lot that saw Cynthia shoved into a closet while Bolt left himself take the fall which allowed Ros to bide her time until she could escape. With Bolt in prison she turned to her not caped friends for something to do and they decided that the best course of action was to go to Vegas and shake it off before going back home to Napa. They did, they had fun, caught a Zatanna show, and went home. While there she really started turning over if she wanted to be a villain and she decided instead to try out what it was like to be a hero instead. I mean she was a fan of Robin, maybe if she did well she could try out for the Titans to meet him, right? And thus Ros was retired and Lush was born. She played the role of hero for a while until one night when she was leaving one of her familys mixers. Checkmate descended on her, capturing her and shoving her in a tube for months. When she would awake and be taken to Zonn Zorr Amanda Waller casually said hello by calling her LAs most wanted. Lush was well aware who Waller was, as Bolt was a member of her Suicide Squad Welcome to Checkmate? To Cynthia this was Welcome to Hell.

At least thats what she thought.

About eight weeks into the campaign we were in Gateway City and there was a tv broadcast going on that wasnt the equation. Between that and what the people around her were saying they learned the basis of which The Society was formed: Zatanna had been mind wiping villains, and this was all her fault. This sent Lush into a panic because in her forgetful mind, she believed she went to a Zatanna show and then when she got home she just decided to be a hero? What? Was she wiped too? She became a bit obsessive with the thought and learning about Zatanna and what she had done. Eventually she asked our dear Madame Xanadu if someone had messed with her mind and the response was a startling affirmation of her worst thoughts. Ros had been mind wiped, and all signs pointed to Zatanna Zatara

Since learning more about who she really was shes learned she actually started as a hero and then later became a villain. She also apparently owes a lot of money to Robert Redford who she was wiped from knowing was her uncle. She was investigating Zatanna before the mind wipes were revealed, she had gone to war against Zatanna by taking down her loved ones. She left one girl left for dead, but she eventually fell into a coma, and then she just put another woman straight in a coma. Somewhere along the line she got an invitation to The Society. She was told straight out at one point she was slotted in to be part of the Society cell in Alcatraz. Moreso she had an even higher connection in the Society left to still tap- but who it was wont be revealed unless Cynthia makes herself whole and lets Ros out to play again.

At one point, I think after the confirmation of the wipe from Xanadu, Scar asked me if it were okay if he took a bit of control on what Lushs true backstory was. I have been all for it and he still communicates with me and allows me to give input on certain things I think would be happening and it does not feel like Im being steered in any direction. I still have all the freedom to give my (sometimes false!) backstory and I get this amazing mystery I get to unravel along the way. So before the rankings start Thank you Scar for having an amazing campaign and taking our input and actions to help mold who we are and what the world can be.

Xander Stray is a Gothamite that was a star athlete in high school with dreams of conquering the NBA. However, throwing a championship game took away his credibility, eligibility, and made his closest friends leave him. Feeling like there was nothing left there in Gotham, he contemplated signing up for the military, like his dad had done before him, until a friend of his mom, Officer McKenzie Bock, called him asking for help. Xander eventually agreed to meet up with Bock and upon being introduced to this new group of people asked to be called Fastbreak as he didnt want his reputation to potentially damage these new relationships, or distract him with his own negativity should someone say something to him about throwing away the game.

On paper Xander is a shoe-in for the Bat-Family. Hes athletic, quick, strong, adaptable, and most of all both of his parents are dead. Like thats all you need for a Robin, right Dick? No? Oh. Regardless I did my best to try and carry the thread in campaign 1 that Fastbreak -was- Gotham. It was in his blood and he did everything he could for the city itself. Aside from Spirit, the others werent from around here and just happened to be in Gotham by chance in the last couple of years. They all cared deeply about fixing the city, but it was a different type of personal forFastbreak.

But during the campaign his point of view changed. Maybe the Bat-Family wasnt the be all end all. And it turns out trying to focus on being a strong leader and having a willingness to get your hands dirty and work under the table makes you a prime candidate to be involved in politics. The end of campaign 1 saw Fastbreak give up the mask in order to be an assistant to Arthur Brown as he took the steps from Mayor into Senator.

Bringing us to campaign 2, Xander has been unlocked for roughly the most recent third of the campaign. He was not put in a tube and he was lucky to have avoided the Equation long enough to make it to the airport where the Society was crashing down. In the Meta program directive responsible for protecting the President in just such an event, he fought them off the best he could as he helped the President get safely on Air Force 1, losing his closest friend in the process. Knowing that back in C1 Clayface was looking for Presidential bunkers and trying to learn the nuances of that then current President, Xander said they would not be safe and instead operation Broken Spirit was activated, which sent them to Challengers Mountain in Colorado where they crashed and survived for months with the Challengers of the Unknown.

During his time in DC working for Cluemaster hes retired the Fastbreak name the best he could. Having lost Spoiler still fresh in his heart, he couldnt bring himself to even thinking he was a hero and that name carried some of those connotations. But the itch was still there as he devoted a lot of his personal efforts to trying to help fund and assist in managing the various Super Teams contracted by the government. YOURE WELCOME FOR YOUR RAISE ROSETTA.

I think thats that. If theres questions about either of them Ill answer them the best I can. Get ready for number 52!

But first An honorable Mention? Well have to see.

Honorable Mention: Bunny
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/6/1/AAOJ0pAADl-J.jpg
A lesson in recency bias. When I first created my list around the time JB started posting his Bunny was actually in my top 10. But as I made my final tweaks I just did not feel the same connection as I did the first go around. Which is on me as I have not been able to interact with her in months due to pursuing other things. If you read Lushs intro Bunny was actually mentioned in it. See Bunny is the girl that Lush put into a coma. But in a way she helped! She survived the Equation and ended up in Alcatraz. Lush trying to clean up some of the sins of Ros has become a bit of a thread and getting Bunny out of the prison and safe in Zonn Zorr was something she just had to do. While unable to take her on the first snap back to base we made a second outing which allowed us to check out Hokus Pokus- the shop owned by Cassandra Craft. They together worked with Zatanna, Bunny learning to be her assistant. See, Bunny was just developing her powers, they were the same kind Zatanna had that she had to speak backwards. But Ros damaged her face and throat so much that power is gone, and she only has a few scant items that can help her at the moment. In time she may regain her powers with the right teacher, but well have to see. Truly Bunny going from top 10 to HM speaks that she can definitely get on the list, and high up, but the fact is theres just so many characters that have left an imprint on me that sometimes characters slide back.

Honorable Mention- TNTeena
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/5/8/1/AAAe4tAADozt.jpg

Whats that? A second HM already? I for the most part have paired my HMs with characters that make the most sense to pair with. Some may get zero, some may get multiple, just depends. Teena was packaged with Bunny to start so she gets to ride along here too. Teena has been mentioned in other lists, she has Autisim but it has not held her back from being a hero. Her story is very sad as from what I understand her mom wasnt abusive physically, but otherwise it was not a very loving home. Maybe even Mommy Dearest sans wire hangers. She caused so many problems for the family and Teena, but Teena endured. Eventually Cyborg recruited her for Teen Titans Auxiliary! as its first (and only?) member stationed in Sacramento. She became the face of the organization in almost a Make-a-Wish style role. But none of that stopped her from actually being a hero. She single handedly detained The Jury and she prides herself on her rate of keeping criminals locked away. She thinks Batman isnt that great considering all his enemies seem to break out of jail, so in some ways she feels more efficient than him. She helped us break out of Alcatraz with her exploding fingers and now spends time in the Scrapper Lanes, sorting and organizing our various items. Teena is someone that I think could really lead a portion of the campaign if we positioned her to be a team leader.

Man, that Alcatraz session really had a lot of fun characters. Teena certainly holds a lot of personal attachment for me, and roleplaying Bunny makes *ME* feel bad for her, and I'm the one playing her! Glad to see them, even if they didn't make the final cut.

52. Hooty
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/1/0/AAJ38fAAEDq6.png
A late addition to the top 52 as he debuted after the list was created. Hooty is the owl of Doctor Mid-Nite. He was with Xander during their teams escape from the Satellite and through DC to get back to our Freedom Fighter base hidden away underground. Since being back at the base Hooty has perched himself on Xanders shoulder and been hanging out with him wherever he goes. Occasionally hooting for some jerky or bread, Hooty has actually been a bit of a sounding board for Xander as he handles his tasks. Hell, going to Owlman to ask him about what Owls eat enlightened us about his Owl Cave in Gateway City. Always good to have extra resources! And that convo probably remains going on delayed even now if I didnt have Hooty around to give me some urgency there. I had Xander have a small chat with Freddy and I felt Hooty being there enhanced that. Perhaps this is recency bias working the other way and insnerting itself into the top 52, but Hooty is just plain fun. Im happy to include him.

Honorable Mention- Journal Moore
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/6/1/1/AAJ38fAAEDq7.png
Scar may already be upset as I know he is a big fan of Journal. Journal is the communications director for President Horne. This was the role Xander was in for Cluemaster before things went to hell, so theres a lot of sympathizing with what shes going through. I think Journal and Xander have the same goals in mind, but the paths to getting them are very different. I think finding the common ground between them will really help shape the direction of the US Recovery as they both share an ear to the President himself.Cowboy or diplomat, well see which way Horne swings. I think Journal probably cracks the low end of the list with another convo or two. They just had a day off together off screen so thats something Ill eventually get to expand upon.I think Journal is going to be an important character as far as the US is concerned, but the late game or actually fighting people she is not connected too. Shes very good in the role she does have.

Well I don't like to say she's the MC because that seems a bit unfair to the others, but to me yeah I try and look through her eyes the most. She just is plugged in to some areas of the campaign that have developed early on and sometimes she's loudest voice in the room.

51. Gudra (Gundra)
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/5/0/AAJ38fAAEDuq.jpg
Its very possible I may be the only player to remember who Gudra is off the top of their heads. (Edit now that this is not several weeks ago- Han would know because she was brought up in his solo session)Gudra the Fallen Queen of the Valkyries (or Gundra) is a Wonder Woman villain, but we found her in week 2 as she was the Queen of Brucke Der Dunen- a title that is reserved for Saoirse, but that is a bit complicated. Brucke Der Dunen is a pocket dimension of sorts that Brennus opened up for us in the Schwarzwald, south of Berlin. Either way, we found her at the end of the session as she was essentially the one in charge of the festival and we had to get her to agree to let Blackbriar Thorn leave with us.

We did not know a ton of what was going on when we started the campaign, but we knew this: Magic is something that Darkseid isnt well equipped to deal with, and The Spectre was on the hunt to snuff it out. Gudra was the only thing stopping us from leaving with this powerful magician that was able to protect this festival that was supposed to be safe from anything. It took Brennus agreeing to have his magics be slave to her for a year for her to agree to us taking him. However as we left her tent of wonders, what we stepped out into looked nothing like what we saw when we left. What we saw was Blackbrian Thorn, no longer a tree, instead a giant man, attacking the Spectre head on. Thorn lasted almost a minute with him, which is still to this day one of the best performances anyone has had against him. During this scuffle though Gudra was riled that The Spectre would disrespect her like this. She flew off to attack him and was swatted out of the sky to her death.

Or so we thought. We returned several weeks later to see if there was anything left of the festival that could help us. Thorn was said to die and resurrect time after time, so it made sense to see if he was doing that. But when we got there Eclipso had made his presence known. Especially with The Gundra. She was half death, half beauty, all branches. It fascinated Lush to see. Gudra sought another deal, this time for Spirit to heal her when her work was done. She took any scrap of Eclipso shards we had and she was off. Where shell show up next I can only assume, but I am excited for when it happens.

Honorable Mention: The Creeper
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/5/1/AAJ38fAAEDur.jpg
Man the Eclipso story is crazy. I wont go into all of it here, but every time we learn something new Im more and more into it. So far we know that Eclipso is followimg The Spectre and taking any scraps he can after hes done with an area. All the other moving parts include needing a host for Eclipso, Eclipso trying to take host in The Spectre, Jean Loring *being* Eclipso, and Eclipso having a tie into a branch of the Church of Blood. Whew. If Eclipso had shown up by now they probably would have rated very highly!

His top agent though is The Creeper. We have seen this fucker everywhere. Brucke Der Dunen, Shadowcrest, Phoenix. Creeper is a bit of a stand in for Eclipso itself in this mention, but in a way hes one of the top recurring adversaries we have as few have been spotted in multiple locations.

Hint for 50: Some space representation

Everybody is as MC as they try to be.

The campaign's way too wide to have a singular MC anyway. Some characters have little to do with space. Some have little to do with Atlantis stuff. Some only end up in magic related missions due to scheduling.

Or you have Roz'etta, played by War, who would eagerly be in every single scene if possible :P

Obrov was very anti-codename, which resulted in Booster Gold publicly annoucing him under a codename he hated (I'm blanking on what the name actually was though)

Bloodfruit got a "codename" out of necessity, because she couldn't go by her real name. It started as basically just a literal fact (her depleted fae blood would be replenished using excessive amounts of orange juice) but I'd like to think that eventually it ended up being a good fit for her as a superhero-ish name
