I mean we are shown that in the text of the MCU, that is literally one of the core conflicts of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Of course in the real world living standards do increase following mass death, most famously after the Black Death.
But just to be clear, Thanos was not right. Its not worth the mass death. Also why didnt Thanos just use the stones to double the universes resources?
