I mean we are shown that in the text of the MCU, that is literally one of the core conflicts of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Of course in the real world living standards do increase following mass death, most famously after the Black Death.
Living standards dont improve immediately though. It takes years after the dieoff for society to react and adjust to the shock of a significant portion of the population just dropping dead. And The Snap was a larger and more sudden shock than the Black Death. So maybe, just maybe society is starting to recover to a point where you could see a net increase in living standards and then WHOOOPS now billions of people just popped back into existence good luck.
