Skipped gens 8 and 9 because I don't really know any of those Pokemon. Tried not to use the same Pokemon for multiple boxes if there were others I really liked as well.

some categories really have nothing good to choose from, huh

Sure. I tried to avoid duplicates at first, but it started getting way too arbitrary and circuitous, especially when it came to picking the fave faves at the end, so I stopped and just allowed dupes

Don't want to come across as a genwunner but boy these got tough the further it went. Starting from Gen VI I was just generally left with a "THESE are my options?!" feeling.
How paralyzingly dull, boring and tedious!

I think theres a pretty clear difference Gens 1-5 and Gens 6-9. I noticed a lot of my Gens 6-9 are reiterations of prior Pokemon rather than new ones. Gen 7 is a major exception; that Gen is great.

Favorite Gen is either 2 or 5.

Don't try to solve any inequalities here, I just played games with the dual types and extra categories to fit as many Pokes in as possible.

I don't think I realized until doing this just how little I like from the Gen VI Dex, despite it having my favorite Pokemon in it.

Sometimes I'd try to go out of my way to avoid duplicates if there was another one that I also cared similarly for, but maybe I wasn't always consistent about this, oops.
Also dunno why Clodsire's not a part of Gen 9's Gimmick Forms selection. If it was, that's what I would've gone with.

something like that at least, I avoided picking the same mon for two different types in the same gen but that was about it

did make it a bit weird at the end though, since that led to some odd dual type choices

Gen 6 is kinda bad huh.

I was really stuck on my favourite typing. I always think Ground and Flying are the top, but it turns out Ground types became awful past gen 5, and Flying wasn't great after gen 2 but everything in the first two gens was amazing. Dark also has an amazing selection in Gen 5 and 9 only. Fire has also been kinda meh after Gen 5, but it has given us Chi-Yu so I'll forgive it.
Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along.
