Yeah, DS version was probably cool right when the DS first released, but realistically trying to compare it with the N64 version hurts my soul so much. I recently replayed the N64 version and I know it's not as good as I remember anymore, but it's still just leagues better for feeling good when moving. That's a hard hurdle to overcome in this comparison.
Playing SM64DS on Wii U was very interesting. You have a control stick but it's mapping D-Pad movements. Still, it's a weird in between that feels "okay"
