It was a long day at work. I came home and discovered that my niece was here. OK, I thought she was coming tomorrow, but fine.

Turns out she made a new friend. It's an ant. In a bug catcher. With relatively sizable air holes. And she can't find it, maybe because it's "hiding in the grass".

I swear, my brother has done more to trash this apartment...
Are you under the impression that all of his ant friends are going to stage a rescue or something?

I'm under the impression that an escaped ant returns to the nest and leads his buddies back in.

I took a closer look and found the ant still inside the jar, so that's a relief. Gonna have words with my brother when my niece goes home, though.
I once had an ant problem in my room. Then a spider setup shop between the legs of the dinner tray next to my desk. Normally this would have been unacceptable but I called a truce, and would stay outta their way if they took care of the ants. Soon enough, no more ant problem. It was a profitable relationship for the both of us.
Just swap apartment numbers with your neighbor and you should be good to go.

Ants only know how to follow trails. If you pick one up and move it away, it's basically dead.
