When Talos calls him Nick, he recognizes it as a distress signal. Could Rodey calling him Nick be a subtle hint to Fury that he knows something is wrong behind the scenes that he can't openly discuss? I mean, the man knows you can't fire Nick Fury, you can only drive him deeper underground.
