No, AA hasn't crossed over into furry territory yetDepends on how hot you find the Proto/Blue Badger is.
I wonder how they'd localize him if the game came out todayChange the memes to be more hip with the new crowd. Or don't, really. Sal spouting a bunch of outdated jokes works just fine.
I'm Debeste!
People have only become more and more terminally online since 2005. Seems like an easy update. He doesn't have a gimmick in japanese at all aside from being a creepy otaku dude. The leetspeak was completely a localization invention, and it's aged well because it makes sal seem EVEN MORE LAME with time which I think is hilarious
AA1 originally came out in 2001. I always wondered what Sal was like in the original Japanese text. IRC chat?
He's a pansy.

not true, he uses random kanji in parentheses at the end of his sentences, i don't know japanese online typing style but they seem to be like tone indicators equivalent to ending a sentence with lol to show its funny, or to show he's angry, excited, etc.Oh my bad, I heard completely wrong then, you know better than I do. That's probably why they went with leetspeak
I just wanna give a shoutout to Sal Manella, a character that only I seem to think is comedy gold because of just how awful he is
silent dork with no spinemy type of man
