Talisman Revised 4th Edition.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27627/talisman-revised-4th-edition

99% of tabletop gamers hate it, but I'm hoping one of you has a copy that you're willing to get rid of.

I will of course pay a fair price, trade, or whatever.

My daughter has been eyeballing my board game collection, but most are way too heavy for her, and she's wanting a roll and move game. I've been thinking about picking up a copy of Talisman as a relic (pun intended), and never got around to looking into it until now, where I find it went out of print this year.

Pls help

Huh, my brother owns that game (and I doubt he'd sell it, sorry). I glanced at a few of my local stores and some websites, but I only found one on Ebay for about $100. I wouldnt have guessed Talisman could be so rare!

Well, okay, uh... so here's the thing. I own a copy. Brand new, still shrink-wrapped. I received it as a Christmas gift a few years ago and hadn't heard of it but then quickly learned after that it doesn't have a good reputation and probably isn't the type of game I would enjoy. It was in print when it was bought, I dunno for how much, I had no idea that it's super rare now and probably worth a lot new.

So... I guess I should probably entertain an offer? I don't know if I'll ever get around to playing this game, I feel bad about selling a gift that I've never used, but...
I don't own it but a former roommate does. I can reach out.

Think of it as turning into a gift of money from that person!

It wouldnt affect what Im willing to pay if you open it and see if you like it.

But knowing that you like skill-based games, Id bet a lot you wont because its almost 100% luck based, lol.

Let me know, Ill give you whatever you think its worth, Id just rather not pay the scalper/gouger price for whats widely known as not being a good game.

Talisman isn't a terrible game, but I remember it being very basic and uneven. One or two players would ascend to the endgame while everyone else was stuck on the lower levels turning into toads over and over.

It was a lot of fun the one time my group played it drunk, though!

Yeah I suppose I do have the option of opening and playing it since it's not like you need it new vs like-new. Obviously I take care of my games pretty well. I'll think on it for a bit. Obviously I'm not gonna price gouge you but I also don't know what a fair price is, especially considering that being out of print does make it worth more to me as well... although like I said I also have no idea if I even want it in the first place so lol
Awesome! Thank you, please let me know.

If it's a hated game, why do you want your daughter to play it? Aren't there better roll-and-move games, and ones that arent out of print and cheaper?

survivor and dillos and nintendo and you are awesome
Wait, is Talisman itself hated or just that edition? Not that I go around asking everybody their opinion on the game, but I don't recall anyone ever telling me they hate Talisman. Also, while it is heavily luck based, I wouldn't say near 100%. There are some strategies and decision making, even if die rolls are still a major factor. The players who know the game do have a better chance of winning.

I own over a hundred board games and I'm trying to think if I own any roll and move games. Weird. I still mentally associate board games with rolling dice and moving places despite not playing any since childhood.

Oh maybe my husband and I should try this.

It sounds interesting despite poor reviews.
