As great as Udgey is, yeah, for me the only character in the series better than Phoenix is Edgeworth.

There's a line in one game that I thought very well described the Judge: not always the smartest, sometimes impressionable, but his heart in the right place, and his final verdict is never unfair.

That last bit can fall apart in some cases where it's 99.9% obvious who the real killer is (or at least that your client is definitely innocent) but gameplay mechanics means you still lose if you present wrong evidence. Still, really like the judge...although not enough to vote him over Phoenix.

That's actually a Grossberg quote from 3-1. Who'd have thought that he'd sum up the Judge better than anyone?

Also I think one great quality about the Judge is that he always brings his best stuff in epic cases. Reversing his Guilty verdict and finally standing up to von Karma in 1-4 is so great.

But 1-4 might be the best Phoenix case, too!

4-3 is pretty unforgivable for the Judge even in spite of the eventual not guilty verdict. Actually you can say that about a lot of AA4. But what else is new.

Anyway:

I picked the Judge over Phoenix, the latter I think has a few flaws that people tend to overlook especially in the Apollo Trilogy, even if he is still great

also because I felt bad for the Judge he doesnt deserve to be killed like this

phoenix and i don't feel bad about the judge getting killed. he has a lot of fun moments, but is way too bound by game mechanics to compete with many good characters
yet all azuarc of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness

Judge is very fun but despite his ubiquity he's barely a character himself, this is an easy one.
No longer becoming a Final Fantasy aficionado.
