That sounds.... really low?
A search of best selling graphic novels has a list where the lowest is 100 million
i just found that article too, and its from 2010, like a month after the movie came out. Its definitely way beyond that number by this point.
but also I found another article that said basically the series initially sold poorly, but Hollywood was in on the idea of adapting it pretty early on just based on the content. So the original movie wasnt necessarily produced based on the idea that Scott Pilgrim was a super popular. book series.
there was for sure a big discrepancy between its popularity and the budget of the film adaptation at the time of release
