Yeah I'm looking at some of my personal older rankings for these projects and I have no clue what I was thinking in many instances. My gen 5 opinions specifically were eyebrow raising for how I feel now. Weird how widely some of my opinions have changed over time.

Gen 9 still has the 2nd part of the DLC coming up, so we should definitely wait for that to be released for a month or two at least. After that, I wouldn't mind doing Gen 9, but I'm guessing others would want to wait for Gen 10 to be announced in case there's another pseudo-spinoff game or whatever.


I'd prefer waiting for the Gen 10 announcement before starting the Gen 9 ranking. Assuming The Pokemon Company is sticking to another 3 year cycle for Gen 9, we could reasonably anticipate the Gen 10 announcement to happen on February 27th, 2025 with the Gen 10 games due for release in late 2025. There could still be a mainline game in late 2024 that might introduce new Pokemon, so I prefer if the Gen 9 ranking was held off until 2025.

Thinking on it I think gen 3 and gen 7 would change for me at the top. Everything else I think is fine.
