Been hearing the most recent stuff (within the past couple of seasons) has been generally much better than the 20 odd years prior, so maybe it might be worth watching the episodes from 2021 onward first?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eazXm7WEz50
Of course, I would strongly recommend watching the first 10 seasons since the 90's episodes were almost all The Simpsons at its best. Seasons 3 to 8 are what are generally considered the show's peak. but I would give the first two seasons and the two seasons after 8 a look as well.
I was gonna say anything season 13 and earlier, but if you're liking the newer stuff........literally any episode

New showrunner brought in a new approach to writing episodes, which has resulted in better scripts for the last couple years. But it's also still hit or miss, with a handful of standout episodes per season and still a bunch of mediocre-to-decent ones (but they still seem to be better on average than the past however many years). Season 34 was also an improvement over 33, so the trend will hopefully continue.Oh neat. Guess Ill try watching season 33 onwards.
edit: He also wanted to stress that this doesn't mean the show is back to how it used to be, and probably never will be, but also the creators aren't trying to do that. Instead, it's simply become a different kind of good Simpsons.
