But most importantly, World of Assassination added the Freelancer mode, which was the roguelike game mode that utilizes all of the maps from all three games. Would you just treat that as normal DLC or something? Seemed pretty huge to me.

You could play Hitman 1 and 2 levels in 3 before this year.

Theres added challenge levels where you play as the King of All Cosmos in flashbacks. Some of them are super hard. Theres added narrative about his father. Its not much but playing as the young King is cool.

I think they also restored a lot of the 2 player stuff removed from the American version due to the copyright dispute and added some other timed versions of the existing levels

tbqh I would have bought it if it was a straight port and not complained so its nice they added all this

Ok I need to finally add my own list before time runs out. I didn't play all too many new games this year, with it being the worst year of my life but here we go.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
2. Final Fantasy XVI
3. Baldur's Gate 3
4. Super Mario Wonder
5. LEGO Fortnite (this one is multiple tiers down from those GOATs but it has so much potential pending future updates. If I could, I'd actually put Fortnite itself in this slot, with Zero Build completely changing the feel and and way you play the game, along with redone movement mechanics and other subtle changes)

But yeah there we go. What a fucking fantastic years for video games, this one will definitely be one for the history books! And there's still quite a few games I'd like to get to: Spider-man 2, maybe Alan Wake 2, Pokmon dlc, Phantom Liberty, etc.
