I'm trying to think of who would make the list for human JRPG characters, non-FF division.
Red or Crono would probably win anyway. I guess there's an outside chance for Joker or maybe even Shulk.
Assuming we don't count silly stuff like Mario that got there start elsewhere, I'd probably lock away Sora and Red as the "too obvious" top two "iconic" characters.
Also-rans that shouldn't likely win the poll but probably have an argument for being included:
Ness
Lloyd Irving
Isaac
If the views of the Japanese audience matters too rather than only the western one we typically find in English online, I guess maybe Adol Christin? Also Marth.
