Yeah we used to have a tempered glass table outside that busted like that when we set a still warm casserole (not even hot, just warm) on it. We were even sitting at it.
Luckily somehow none of us were hurt but tempered glass REALLY does not like temperature changes apparently.
Swore off the stuff after that too.
