As a kid I just kept my guys at critical and spammed skip to do it way before aura but yeah.Yup, both of these for me. Summons took way too long to be fun to use for the most part. Doomtrain was useful though, IIRC.
Never used summons. Lots of ways to break that game in any case even if you don't really pay attention
