I keep both on most of the time, or notifications only at work. Fortunately my ringtone can be mistaken for classical music.a ringtone that lasts for 4507 seconds seems excessive
team silent (no vibrate even)
a ringtone that lasts for 4507 seconds seems excessive
I use my phone extensively for work so I can't do that
I'd probably have it on vibrate normally.
vibrate for calls, nothing else
This topic reminds me of the 00's when everyone bought ringtones and all the people our age that liked video games had like megaman or something ring.I had Super Mario World, Mega Man and Castlevania ring tones on my first couple of phones.
Times changed lol
I have the MGS ! sound for texts and the Mario 1-Up sound for other notifications
If I had it on vibrate, I wouldn't know it was ringing/notifying. Usually when I'm home, I leave it in my room and then it inevitably rings when I'm making lunch. The only time vibrate would work is when I'm out of the house and it's in my pocket.
I wasn't aware perma-vibrate was so common.
I'm the old man who always has sound on for everything (unless I'm in a place where you're encouraged to silence your phone) but I have video game sounds so I enjoy hearing themThis. I barely ever get robo-calls, and people very rarely text me, so I might get one or two notifications a day.
What in the world? I also had no idea this was a thing. When did people start silencing their phones all the time? It must have increased as the number of apps sending notifications has increased.like 2014
If Im expecting a very important call or text or email Ill keep the volume on but only when Im home and the phone is not on me^
other than that its on vibrate at all times

You only hear the vibration if the phone is relatively close to you.So try saying that incredulously, instead of "in front of your eyes all day"
So try saying that incredulously, instead of "in front of your eyes all day"Yeah? What part isn't clear? It's normal for the phone to be left in another room, for instance.
"Is the phone relatively close to you all day???"
Uh, yeah
What part isn't clear?Nothing, we both agree that what you said was dumb, now we move on in life
