my friend has a job cutting social media videos for sports organizations, he got sent some raw footage from the NFL and the video was someone asking two retired NFL players to draft 5 Pokemon each for a football team

These were their choices (in order of draft):

Team 1:
Dragonite
Flareon
Scyther
Gengar
Venusaur

Team 2:
Gyarados
Blastoise
Snorlax
Alakazam
Moltres

The guy who made the first team actually brought his old Pokemon cards for each Pokemon he drafted which is cute

He also said he picked Scyther because he has "knives for hands" and I think it's great that someone is finally considering adding knife-hands to the NFL

didn't know where else to post this, I just got a kick out of it talking to my friend about Pokemon Football

Phew. I saw Araquanid getting a number of -3s and got pretty worried.

Is Steel Beam the first time that only the bottom 3 ended up negative?

I knew my taste in pokmon differs a bit from the general option, but I didn't expect to be the only positive vote! I really liked having Shroodle on my team, up until it evolved anyway (then it got benched as I don't care for Grafaiai).

In UotY you had to do full votes but that was also so you couldn't play the game by avoiding the negatives, but that wasn't the issue now so who knows.

Middle evolutions mostly suck, at least lately. It really seems like they design the starters and the final stages first and then the middle evos are afterthoughts because they wont be in any marketing

Dartrix in particular I really don't like. I like Rowlet and Decidueye quite a bit, but Dartrix just seems smug and obnoxious, IDK why. I don't have that issue with actual barn owls.

This is often the case, but I think giving Dartrix the awkward teenage vibe makes it less of an afterthought. Whether people like it or not is a different case.

Bear in mind that in the future, I would have discarded that vote entirely; I will fix your vote for you if it's VERY OBVIOUS who you intended to vote for (the pokemon is in the same evolutionary line or has some other very direct connection - for instance I did count a Sewaddle vote as a vote for Swadloon) but in the case of Inteleon I would not be able to judge that as a vote for Greninja.
