I think it's some spillover from people understandably disliking the lolita kinda thing that Gothita has going on. Also the fact that it's probably the most bland Psychic type ingame, aside from having Shadow Tag. Which is banned everywhere in competitive anyway.
Perhaps the golden rock was inside us all along.

Honestly if Gothitelle looked just slightly different I'd be all over it

I didn't get around to vote, but Furfrou is quite possibly the worst gimmick to date imo and most forms are hideous. No wonder it has not yet been made available on Switch.

I'm also surprised Manaphy couldn't advance, for the same reason. Phione did in fact suck up most of the negative votes (mostly the -3's). For comparison purposes in the votes for Manaphy and Phione:

Total positive points - Manaphy (7 points), Phione (5 points)
Total negative points - Manaphy (27 points), Phione (65 points)

Manaphy fared only slightly better than Phione when it came to the points from the positive votes, but Phione had more than twice as many points from the negative votes.

Manaphy's design is straight up worse than Phione's imo, but of course Phione is the most pointless pokemon to ever exist.

I'm happy Minior and Masquerain both survived!

I honestly gave Grovyle the boost based more on the anime. I stopped watching during the RSE arc but I remember really liking Ash's Grovyle and thinking it was so cool.

Grovyle is excellent. Might still be the most balanced starter line date imo. Most lines have a weak link, that line does not.

In a just world, Frogadier and Floragato would be the most popular in their lines.

Top five are great but those bottom five are some of the worst mons out there. Special props to Brionne for sucking in an otherwise great line, Quilladin for somehow becoming great in its final evo after two stages of trash, and Combusken for being a penis.

Middle evolutions tend to be mostly bad and middle evolutions of starters tend to be worse than average.

Nuke them all and just make Whirlipede an honorary standalone Pokemon.

Aw yea someone who agrees with my Pokmon hot takes :D

Dewott, Quilava and Ivysaur are the holy trinity of mid-evos, I think all three are my favourites of their lines. I haven't played PLA but choosing between Oshawatt and Cyndaquil would be a nightmare.

I am also a Whirlipede apologist. Having a three stage mon where the middle stage just turns into a murder wheel for no apparent reason before becoming a long version of the original when it evolves again is peak Pokmon design.

Gothitelle is also a bit of a Gardevoir knockoff, which is why I think it's not popular at all.
