Quadralien - Main Theme

oh boy a 10 minute Amiga song. Love 1:00, the mood combined with the evil low-quality guitar. Panning is a bit rough but that can't be helped. Jesus Christ 2:03. Giygas just attacked me or something. Okay it's looping. Very great moodiness to it, the kind of "you're probably fucked, but keep pushing forward anyway" vibe that's all too rare to find. Could do with a bit more variation. Whatever. Surprised you didn't rank this higher

Genetos - Price of Prosperity

Show me your Genetos. UF8 leads me to believe I should play this game, so I've held off listening to the soundtrack. I love how earnest Koyama's music sounds. It always seems like he's really pushing for some emotion in all of them. I also love how unnecessarily goofy all of the instruments sounds; there's no way he couldn't find "better" VSTs.

Children of Mana - Monster of the Forest / Forest of the Sickle Weasel

Very cool start. As somebody who doesn't know Klonoa music well, kind of reminds me of Klonoa music. Some very cool adventury vibes in here, with the not-quite-prog progressions you get in a lot of songs in whatever genre or category this is. Neat stuff... this is definitely reminiscent in parts of Baladium's Drive, a song I hardly remember and will not look up to verify

Blast Corps - The Moon

And people say the N64 doesn't have good music (I presume they also don't know who Hanazawa is). This is doing very nice old school RTS music things. And also Amiga things. Those are good things to be doing!

Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Natural Life A
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqbKBg9NEjQ

This song has always sat in a strange place for me. It's going for kind of a unique vibe, and doesn't really place nicely in any easy to define category. It's not weird enough to get my prog hackles to rise, not exciting enough to get my blood pounding, not calm enough to get my breathing to slow, not dreamy enough to take my mind to a faraway place. It's refusal to act like most anything else I've heard, even standing separate from other Basiscape tracks, is a worth all its one, yet one I can't always connect to to its fullest
