I already joined the Discord shortly after steiner made it, but the amount of people who wouldn't join it really surprises me. Instead of continuing the relationships that they cultivated over a decade or two, they would just bounce because the format is no longer a strict message board? I just can't wrap my head around the idea that people here not really mattering and love the "message board experience" that much.
It's not loving the message board experience. I just don't enjoy the chat room experience.
And I've already lost contact with a lot of former B8ers over time. That's part of life. If there's somebody I really want to stay in contact with, I'll find a way.
