I don't know if Firelink Shrine counts. The hub from Demon's Souls definitely would but it's not nearly as memorable.

I wouldn't say Hyrule Field counts, but I'd hear arguments otherwise

the big counterargument is that OoT was supposed to be like Mario 64 and have paintings that Link would go through to get to the levels, but they scrapped that to make it LESS like Mario 64. If you're LESS like Mario 64, then you probably don't have a true hub world

I love hub worlds where you bring characters back from your adventures and they help develop it, and the best example I can think of for that is Digimon World 1 (the game is better remembered as a town builder than a digimon game, which I'm not sure was at all intended).

I think there's a distinction between overworlds and hub worlds. Peach's Castle is a hub world. Hyrule Field is an overworld.
